Today we have an iconic Okanagan ride, the rolling descent from Twin Lakes to our first stop, Nighthawk Vineyards for a tasting. Then, we continue on a spectacular ride through rolling ranch lands to our (optional) lunch stop, Covert Farms. We finish with a long, sweeping descent through the orchards and vineyards of Oliver, wrapping up with either gelato at Medici’s or a cold craft beer at the Firehall Brewery.
Our vineyard story began as a celebration of family and friendship, inspired by the natural beauty of this magical valley in Okanagan Falls. We share the land with the local wildlife, including the Nighthawks that return each spring to nest during the growing season. The unique micro climate of Okanagan Falls provides a rare habitat perfectly suited to these majestic birds, and of course some of the valley’s finest grape growing conditions…coincidence or not?
covert farms (our optional lunch stop)
Some laughed when George Covert bought this desert-like piece of land back in 1959 – but he, his son, and eventually grandson have grown Covert Farms into a cornerstone in organic farming. The family name is well known across numerous provinces with restaurateurs and grocers alike.
We can add a charcuterie lunch at Covert Farms plus a chance to try wines from the Family Estate.
Medici's Gelateria & Coffee House in Oliver BC, the heart of the Okanagan valley where we make the absolute best premium Italian Gelato and Sorbetto. Medici's is a highly regarded tourist destination and receives the highest ratings on both Trip Advisor and The Urban Spoon We are an attractive and very comfortable setting in what was a former Catholic Church. Medici's offers intimacy, comfort, warmth and incredible food, drink and entertainment products in an environment steeped with European flair.
If your idea of a “cold one” is more along the lines of a frosty beer you can opt for the Firehall Brewery instead of gelato. It’s just down the hill from Medici’s!
