Myra Canyon and East Kelowna

Tuesday, october 9

Myra Canyon is consistently on the list of North America’s top “Bucket List” rides - and it’s no wonder. Today we’ll share the amazing scenery and fascinating history of the Kettle Valley Railroad, riding over 18 trestles and 2 tunnels - twice. It’s an out and back with a snack stop halfway. Then we shuttle down to Spierhead Winery for Lunch and a great wrap up ride through the orchards and vineyards of East Kelowna. We stop for a few wine tasting stops along the way.

Tonight, we bid you adieu with a hosted dinner (we’ll be joining you) at Waterfront Wines in downtown Kelowna and then a glass of wine and some homegrown music at the Okanagan Songwriters Festival at Sandhill Wines.

Our Stops

Myra Canyon

Our first stop will be for a stretch of the legs and a snack when our support vehicle meets us at Yellow Lake.

Spierhead-Winery.jpg

spierhead winery (lunch)

SpearHead Winery is located near the top of Spiers Road on the benchlands of south east Kelowna, one of the newest wine regions in the Okanagan. Our focus is on premium quality wine which we produce from grapes grown on our estate vineyard and from selected Okanagan Valley vineyards. The hand harvested grapes are sorted at the winery and fermented in small lots.

tantalus winery

Tantalus Vineyards was founded on the belief that exceptional wines made from a single vineyard of outstanding pedigree would capture the imagination and palates of those seeking authenticity
and a sense of place.

We are situated on the eastern slopes of the Okanagan Valley, overlooking the shores of Lake Okanagan and the City of Kelowna. Originally known as Pioneer Vineyards, the site was first
planted to table grapes in 1927 and today is known as the oldest continuously producing vineyard in British Columbia.

singer/songwriter showcase

After dinner, we’ll walk over to Sandhill Winery for a very special event showcasing different Singer/Songwriters. Kelowna Locals Riverteeth, Aaron Gordon, Megan Freedman, Conroy Ross, Gorden James and Ottawa artist Chris Zimmerman, joining us on his “Rain” tour, showcase their original music. (the show starts at 6, so we won’t catch every act, but we will be there for a number of them)
