Today, if you’re up for it, you can join us for a morning yoga session by the pool overlooking the vineyards. Then, enjoy another incredible breakfast from Mara! When you’re ready to ride, we have a treat for you! Today, we’ll shuttle you up to Myra Canyon and you’ll ride the historic Kettle Valley Railway trail. We start with 18 historic trestles laced around the canyon and make a quick stop where we’ll hunt for archeological clues at the site of a long-abandoned worker’s camp. Then, it’s off to our lunch stop at the rustic Chute Lake Resort. After, we’ll start our descent to Penticton, through old growth Ponderosa Pine forests and along a ridge high above Okanagan Lake. We finish with a rolling ride through the vineyards of scenic Naramata, with one last stop for Gita Peterson’s famous Poplar Grove cheese. The Giro Shuttle will pick you up in Penticton and take you back to the Guesthouse where you can refresh yourself before supper at Basil and Mint in Kelowna’s Mission area.

We start our ride today on the 18 trestles and 2 tunnels in Myra Canyon. We’ll tell you the fascinating story of the making of the railway and share many exclusive Giro points of interest.
worker’s camp site
We’ll stop at the site of Morrisey Camp #2, by Ruth Station. This truly is a hidden gem - as you need to know exactly the right trail to take. Giro has worked with local historians to research the story of this camp and can share what life would have been like for workers on the Kettle Valley Railroad over a hundred years ago.
Chute Lake Resort (Lunch)
The Giro Support team will meet you with a gourmet picnic lunch at the rustic and historic Chute Lake Resort. Recently taken over by our friends at Hoodoo Adventures, the resort is being completely renovated but there is still plenty of history to discover here!
