This is a beautiful road ride, starting in the Okanagan highlands and riding fresh pavement on White Lake Road and Fairview Road through rolling ranchlands and farms. We stop at Covert Farms for a late morning snack before we descend into the orchards and vineyards of the Golden Mile, just above Oliver. We make a historic stop at the site of the vanished gold rush ghost town of Fairview, then continue to the rides end for a tasting and lunch at Tinhorn Creek. Then it’s a short shuttle ride back to Burrowing Owl.
Dinner tonight is at Sonora, at Hester Creek in Oliver
Welcome to our 4th generation 650 acre organic farm, vineyard, and winery. Our organically-grown wine portfolio includes Roussanne/Viognier, Sauvignon Blanc/Semillon, Rosé, as well as our proprietary red blends, The Bluff, MDC and the iconic, Amicitia.
Relax on our licensed patio and enjoy a glass wine with a charcuterie and cheese board featuring small bites from the farm.
Lunch - Miradoro at Tinhorn creek
Miradoro Restaurant is a partnership between Tinhorn Creek and renowned restaurateur Manuel Ferreira.
Panoramic views of the valley below; clean lines, and a comfortable atmosphere. Locally sourced ingredients prepared by an award-winning chef. All of this, in the heart of the south Okanagan – with a hint of Mediterranean on the palate.
It’s where rustic meets elegant in delicious harmony.
Le Vieux Pin
Named for the solitary majestic old growth pine of their Oliver estate, Le Vieux Pin sits perched amidst the famed vineyards of the Black Sage Bench: Canada’s sole pocket desert, located in the South of British Columbia’s Okanagan Valley. Since releasing their first vintage in 2005, Le Vieux Pin has captured the essence of traditional French winemaking, along with the bold New World character distinct to the region.
