Kelowna History Tour

It’s our last day of cycling and we’ve put together a spectacular itinerary for you. After breakfast at the guesthouse, we’ll get on the bikes and ride right from your front door, first riding along scenic Lakeshore Drive and then explore the agricultural riches of East Kelowna. We’ll do a little foraging with some of our farming friends in the area and learn more about the history of agriculture in the region. Along the way, choose carefully, because you’ll actually be sourcing the ingredients for tonight’s dinner! We’ll enjoy a charcuterie lunch at Spierhead Winery and then ride back to the guesthouse. There, Chef Mara will guide you through a culinary workshop where you’ll create a dish that you’ll enjoy at tonight’s wind up event, a hosted Chef’s Long Table dinner at the Estate house. It will be an evening to remember, with 5 spectacular courses prepared by Chef Mara. Then we’ll share a final evening of music and memories by the pool, under the stars of an Okanagan sky. Our Stops



We are a small, family-run farm and business, and we work with a team of local staff to provide an exceptional garden and retail experience. We grow top quality herbs and produce natural products in a way that is good for the body, the earth and the soul.

We grow the plants and herbs on our farm without the use of harmful sprays, we harvest them by hand at their peak, and we dry, distill or infuse them to be used in our products.



Nestled in the beautiful hills of South East Kelowna, Arlo’s Honey Farm is where the dance of the honey bees orchestrates the pollination of our flowers, fruits, berries, and vegetables while creating our award winning honey.

Arlo’s Honey Farm in the Okanagan offers not only award winning honey, but bees wax, propolis, candles, fresh fruits, berries, and vegetables in season. Our honey products are sold in our own Kelowna Farm Gift Gallery. 



Who could say if it’s a wise choice to jump headlong into full-time farming, but there it is—and here we are: back on the family farm after two decades of urban living, a couple of wise-asses with dreams of distillation.

So, here’s the deal: we take the terms ‘hand-crafted’ and ‘field-to-bottle’ pretty seriously, and quite literally.  We’re passionate about the alchemy of the actual distillation process, and even more so about the practice and ritual of growing the ingredients ourselves.



SpearHead Winery is located near the top of Spiers Road on the benchlands of south east Kelowna, one of the newest wine regions in the Okanagan. Our focus is on premium quality wine which we produce from grapes grown on our estate vineyard and from selected Okanagan Valley vineyards. The hand harvested grapes are sorted at the winery and fermented in small lots.

The Giro Team will meet you at Spierhead with a charcuterie lunch to enjoy.

Tantalus Vineyards was founded on the belief that exceptional wines made from a single vineyard of outstanding pedigree would capture the imagination and palates of those seeking authenticity 
and a sense of place.

We are situated on the eastern slopes of the Okanagan Valley, overlooking the shores of Lake Okanagan and the City of Kelowna. Originally known as Pioneer Vineyards, the site was first 
planted to table grapes in 1927 and today is known as the oldest continuously producing vineyard in British Columbia.

Mara has been cooking and teaching “Farm to Table” for over 25 years. From a European apprenticeship, to a successful farm to table cooking school on Vancouver Island, to 6 years managing and consulting for luxury hotels in Belize Mara has a wealth of recipes, passion and experience to share with you. Mara has her Red Seal, her Provincial Instructors Diploma and a Master of Italian cooking certificate and spent 4 years as the President of Slow Food Canada promoting sustainable food and farmers. For over 10 years has led annual Culinary tours in Italy in October.

We’ll join you for this wrap-up event - a perfect chance to toast new friends and savour the memories of the last few days.
