This ride is all about contrasts and history. We'll start with a shuttle ride through the South Okanagan Valley up to the Kettle Valley Rail Trail above Naramata. Along the way we'll share some of the history of this area. We then ride down the KVR through the remote Okanagan highlands and Ponderosa forests towards Naramata, through Little Tunnel and it's amazing scenic vistas of the Okanagan Valley.  As we ride, the scenery will transition to the vineyards and orchards of the Naramata bench.  Here, our tour turns into a sampling of the best the Okanagan has to offer. We'll stop for lunch at Hillside winery, then it’s on for a wine and cheese tasting at Poplar Grove and Lock and Worth Wines. Then, it’s on to D’Angelos Estate Winery and we finish our ride as we come into Penticton. We can include an optional stop at Roche Winery.

Dinner tonight is at Convivia Bistro, just a short walk from the resort.

little tunnel

High above Naramata you'll find one of the most popular destinations on the Kettle Valley Rail Trail - The "Little Tunnel". From here you have a sweeping view of the entire South Okanagan.

hillside winery - our lunch stop

"Our mission at Hillside is to produce interesting flavour combinations to complement our wines. We prepare our dishes simply and treat the ingredients with the utmost of respect.

Our local farmers are growing only the highest quality fruits and vegetables. We take great pride in featuring their very best on our menu and even more pride in placing it on your plate."

"At Poplar Grove Cheese, we love life – and that includes good food and wine. We are passionate about making delicious hand-crafted French style cheeses."

Owner Gitta Pederson makes some of our personal favorites, including a dynamite double cream camembert.

D'ANGELO ESTATE WINERY

This is one of our Naramata "Hidden Gems." Owner Sal D'Angelo has forgotten more about wine making than most people will ever know. This stop is not about glitzy tasting rooms or polished marketing. This is about wine and the man who makes it, pure and simple.

Roche-1.jpg

ROCHE WINERY

"Deep roots in French tradition nourish our shared passion for soils, vines and wine. Dedicated to natural, artisanal farming and winemaking, we strive to reveal the intimate relation of wine and terroir."

Roche is another of our hidden gems - a new winery with very deep roots!

Tonight's dinner is at Convivia in downtown Osoyoos, just a two minute walk from Watermark Resort.

After running a successful restaurant for more than 30 years in Trois Rivieres, Que., Perrutel and his wife Johane Dupont are the proud new owners of Convivia Restaurant.

The menu at Convivia features traditional bistro-style European food, including pasta and pizza, lamb, veal, salmon and filet mignon entrees with numerous salads and appetizers.

Another house specialty is “authentic French Canadian poutine.”

“Everything we serve is homemade and we use only fresh ingredients and this includes all of our desserts,”
