OKANAGAN OASIS BED N BREAKFAST
Welcome to Okanagan Oasis B&B, an adult oriented mini-resort...not your typical B&B! Catering to those discerning travellers looking for a unique, private resort-like experience, they feature amenities such as a heated outdoor salt water pool, hot tub, fire pit, pond & waterfall, lovely gardens and fabulous lake view from all rooms.
Striking the right balance between recreation and relaxation is not hard to do here. We’ve put together one sample itinerary to show how it might be done:
Day One - After your check in at Okanagan Oasis, join us for a welcome reception by the pool where you’ll be introduced to the Giro Team and to your hosts at the Bed and Breakfast. After the reception, we'll take you to tonight's dinner destination, the Gasthaus in downtown Peachland.
Dinner - The Gasthaus Pub and Restaurant has been an Okanagan fixture for almost three decades. Authentic German dishes, imported beer on tap and liberal helpings of camaraderie have made this one of our guest's favourite dining experiences.
Day Two - This morning, while you enjoy your breakfast we'll load up your bikes and get ready for today's ride. After a short shuttle ride to nearby Summerland, today’s ride follows the TransCanada Trail from west of Summerland back towards town. We'll stop at the Kettle Valley Steam Train for a 90 minute into history. Then it's back on the bikes for a beautiful ride on the TCT above Summerland, stopping for a few fascinating stories on the way. The Giro team will meet us at Nomad Cidery for an al fresco lunch and cider tasting, then we wrap up the ride with a visit to Summerland Sweets and Dirty Laundry Vineyards. After you have a chance to rest at the Oasis the Giro shuttle will pick you up and take you to Indigenous Winery for a private tasting and some fascinating stories of the 10,000 year history of Syilx Nation. After dinner at the Red Fox Club, we return to Okanagan Oasis.
Lunch - A gourmet al fresco lunch will be served by the Giro Team at Nomad Cidery.
Dinner - Red Fox Club is an aboriginal inspired restaurant using local greenhouses, farms, cheese makers and purveyors with a casual approach to dining. The menu is designed with native food in mind. Indulge in revolving dishes crafted for any palate from the Red Fox boards and elk chili to the crispy salmon fritters and Indigenous salad featuring local foraged greens.
Spare Time Option - Book a relaxation massage in the afternoon from Giro’s own massage therapist, Alanna. Don’t stress, we’ll come to you at the guesthouse. After all, this is a relaxation massage.
Day Three Today, if you’re up for it, you can join us for a morning yoga session by the pool overlooking the lake. Then, enjoy another incredible breakfast from Chris at Okanagan Oasis! When you’re ready to ride, we have a treat for you! Today, we’ll shuttle you up to Myra Canyon and you’ll ride the historic Kettle Valley Railway trail. We start with 18 historic trestles laced around the canyon and make a quick stop where we’ll hunt for archeological clues at the site of a long-abandoned worker’s camp. Then, it’s off to our lunch stop at the rustic Chute Lake Resort. After, we’ll start our descent to Penticton, through old growth Ponderosa Pine forests and along a ridge high above Okanagan Lake. We finish with a rolling ride through the vineyards of scenic Naramata, with one last stop for Gita Peterson’s famous Poplar Grove cheese. The Giro Shuttle will pick you up in Penticton and take you back to the Bed and Breakfast where you can refresh yourself before supper - which will be at the fabulous Old Vines Restaurant at Quail's Gate Winery
Lunch - An al-fresco lunch from the Bench Market served by the Giro Team at historic Chute Lake Resort.
Dinner - Named one of the Top 100 Restaurants in Canada, Old Vines Restaurant is an all-season culinary destination that offers guests the ultimate food and wine experience in a spectacular vineyard setting.
Spare Time Option - Join us for an early morning yoga class overlooking Lake Okanagan before breakfast. It’s a wonderful way to stretch out those muscles to get ready for a day of cycling.
Day Four It’s our last day of cycling and we’ve put together a spectacular itinerary for you. After breakfast at the guesthouse, the Giro shuttle will take us to Kelowna where we'll start in the historic Mission area, first riding along scenic Lakeshore Drive and then explore the agricultural riches of East Kelowna. We’ll do a little foraging with some of our farming friends in the area and learn more about the history of agriculture in the region. Along the way, choose carefully, because you’ll actually be sourcing some of the ingredients for tonight’s dinner! We’ll enjoy a charcuterie lunch at Spierhead Winery and then take the shuttle back to Okanagan Oasis. There, Chef Alessandro from Il Tavalino will prepare a hosted Chef’s Long Table dinner on the deck overlooking the lake. It will be an evening to remember, with 4 spectacular courses prepared by Chef Alessandro. Then we’ll share a final evening of music and memories by the pool, under the stars of an Okanagan sky. Buona Sera – our Giro amici!
Lunch - The Giro team will meet you at Spierhead Winery with a charcuterie lunch and tasting afterwards.
Dinner - Chef Alessandro will prepare a wonderful 4 course private long table Italian dinner just for you. Using only the highest quality ingredients, we feel there is no need to complicate the sacred Italian recipes. We guarantee an authentic, fresh, high quality meal, every time. Born in Montreal, Alessandro’s Italian heritage and zest for life is infused into every aspect of his cooking.
Day Five This morning, enjoy a leisurely breakfast at the Guesthouse before your travels home. If you’re not quite ready to leave the Okanagan, ask us about other ideas to extend your stay!
* Our sample itineraries tend to be packed with options. As we mentioned, this is just a guide and - as such - we thought it best to give you as many options as possible.
